Southwestern Heat Wave

Sorry for the 'break' I took in blogging. I was off on dog business in the southwest. Wow! That was some heat wave! A storm here knocked out our power so I was unable to send a farewell blog post. Sorry to all you loyal readers.

It is difficult to find someone to puppy sit when you have to go off trampling the globe but it is do-able if you find someone you can trust with your dogs/puppies. We are very blessed in that we have a regular dog/puppy sitter who we trust explicitly. It is my advice that anyone going into raising dogs research this aspect BEFORE getting your dogs. And it really can't be someone who only knows how to throw out food and water to your hungry mob. They have to be versed, and trusted, in the handling of emergencies, canine squabbles, etc. If you don't have this, you may begin to resent your dogs over the years. I do believe this is a biggie on why many would-be dog breeders end their doggie lifestyle before it ever really gets started. Also bear in mind that if your going to show, most registries, including AKC, do not allow non-entered dogs to come to the show.

Your homework is assigned... find yourself a reliable dogsitter. You'll be glad you did!
